GOOSSENS, Jan Pieter MD, PhD 78, of Indian Rocks Beach died April 30, 2014 at Largo Medical Center. He was born in Tilburg, Netherlands Sept. 17, 1935. Dr Goossens has been a Florida resident since 1991 coming from Maine; and practiced medicine at the Bay Pines Medical Center for 16 years, in the gastroenterology department, retiring at the age of 73. He was a member of St. Jerome Catholic Church. Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Annemarie Goossens; sons, Jan Pieter (Marjolein) Goossens, and Joost (Elaine) Goossens; daughters, Carolien Goossens, Marianne (Lynn) Richards, and Hanneke (Kevin) Olson; brother, Anton Goossens; sisters, Riet Timmerman and Anneke Van Thiel. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren. Interment will take place in Serenity Gardens Memorial Park.
