Janet was born on July 25, 1932 in New Kensington, PA to Paul and Bernice (Eyman) Foster. From an early age she could light up any room with her warm demeanor, calming voice, and infectious, beautiful smile. She was the May Queen, a standout cheerleader, the graceful matriarch of the family, and a devoted woman of Faith.
She married her High School sweetheart, Charles Hooks Jr. on August 5, 1950 in Kittanning, PA. The two were about to celebrate their 72nd wedding anniversary. Throughout the years, they visited all 50 states, went on several cruises, hosted many friend and family gatherings, and enjoyed their weekly Bingo games and other events while residing in Palm Hill Country Club in Largo, FL.
Janet was preceded in death by her parents and older brother and his wife, Robert and Kathleen Foster of Greensburg, PA.
She leaves behind her brother, Ronald Foster of Clearwater, FL, sister, Kathy (Rudy) Schwoeble of Newfield, NY, her children; daughters Constance Hooks, Lutz, FL, Karen (Clay) Foster, Kissimmee, FL, and son, Charles (Skip) (Mimi) Hooks Ill, Clearwater, FL. She dearly loved her grandchildren; Douglas Smith, Laurie (Dave) Cagle, Rachael (Charles) Cagle, Sonny Foster and her great grandchildren Christian, Matthew, and Ella Cagle and Noah and Sophia Foster.
A visitation for Janet will be held Friday, June 24, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Serenity Funeral Home, 13401 Indian Rocks Road, Largo, FL 33774. A funeral service and entombment will immediately follow.
