Jason “Jay” L. Chambers, age 67, of Clearwater entered the Gates of Heaven on Monday, August 31, 2026. He was born on July 14, 1959 in Millinocket, ME to Duncan A Chambers Sr. and Katherine E Leet Chambers. The family relocated to Pinellas County in 1968 where he attended Ponce de Leon Elementary, Largo Middle and Largo High School. Jay never met a stranger. He was known for his generous heart, his willingness to lend a helping hand, and his remarkable ability to fix just about anything.
In his younger years, Jay owned and operated a lawn maintenance business. He later worked alongside his brother, Joey, and future brother-in-law, Mark, at Acorn Tree Service. Jay and Mark also proudly served as Volunteer Firefighters together with the Belleair Bluffs Fire Department, Station 43.
Most of Jay’s working years were spent at Keys Concrete in Clearwater, where he developed many wonderful friendships with his coworkers and supervisors. He later served as the Yard Man at ATL Trucking on the same property.
In recent years, Jay returned to his passion for landscaping and lawn maintenance, once again working for himself. His attention to detail and pride in his work made his customers love what he did. When Jay purchased his home, he proudly transformed its landscape, creating a beautiful tribute honoring his children and grandchildren who served in the United States Marine Corps, Army, and Navy. He was incredibly proud of their service.
Jay was also an avid Tampa Bay Buccaneers fan to the very end. During football season, Captain Fear could always be found proudly displayed in his front yard for all the games.
Jay was preceded in death by his parents, Duncan and Katherine Chambers; his older brother, Dennis Chambers; and his younger brother, Joseph “Joey” Chambers and niece, Diana Chambers.
He is survived by his children, Jessica Rebic (Todd) of Clearwater, Florida, and Nicholas Chambers of Ocala, Florida; and his grandchildren, Kayla, Dylan, Gabrielle, Marissa, Lea, Noah, Arya, Tyler, and Haleigh.
He is also survived by his brothers, Ronald Chambers (Rebecca) of Lake City, Florida, and Duncan Chambers Jr. (Susie) of Gruetli Laager, Tennessee; his favorite sister, Stephanie Allen (Mark) of Clearwater, Florida; and his nieces and nephews, Ryan, Kelsi, Katie, Sarah, Duncan III, Brandy, Joshua, and Amy.
Jay was also blessed with a bonus family through Jessica and Todd’s union, who brought tremendous joy to his life. He was lovingly known as GG to Tiffany Rebic (Andy) and their children, Alexa and Ava of Land O’Lakes, FL; Heather Elliott (Tez) and their children, Roselyn, Mallex, and Brixton of Land O’Lakes, FL; and Brittney Rhodes (Jesse) of St Petersburg Beach, FL.
Jay leaves behind a legacy of kindness, hard work, friendship, family and a willingness to help whenever someone needed him. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
