02/02/1930 – 05/04/2013
BATTLE, John “Jack” was born in Savannah, Georgia on Feb. 2nd, 1930 & passed away peacefully in his Madeira Beach home on May 4th, 2013. Jack grew up in Leesburg, FL. He was in the Navy, studied architecture at University of Florida (Go Gators!) along with being in the SAE fraternity. He moved his family to Kansas & became a successful Sales Engineer for his own company, DynMac Corp. Jack had a huge love for the game of golf & had been playing since he was 4 years old. He was "damn" good and even had a tournament named after him ,“The Jack Battle Royal” at his country club. When he retired, he & his wife moved back to Florida to be near their 3 kids & he started working in real estate with his daughters. They bought a house on the water, along with a boat named “Battleship” & lived life beyond the limits. Jack could have fun anywhere, anytime & his laugh and smile would light up the world! A true southern gentleman; he will be missed beyond belief. He leaves behind his beautiful wife of 57 years, Barbara Whigham Battle; their children Suzanne Iles & family (Steve, Louise, Laura & Kyle) Judy Battle & family (Ashley, Savannah) Mark Battle & family (Nadine, Brianna) and his 3 dear sisters Maryann Schaller, Bitsie Battle Webb, & Jill Eason. He always held his entire family so close in his generous, loving, sweet soul.
