

89, of Largo, passed away Wednesday, February 8, 2012 from pneumonia complications. His family lived in Franklin Square, New York. John was married to his college sweetheart Elizabeth for 61 years and both retired to Largo, Florida some 25 years ago.
John proudly served in the US Army and graduated from Oswego State University with a Degree in Education. He was an educator in the NYC Public School System for over 25 years.
John was very involved in the Boy Scouts with his sons. He was a Troop Leader and enjoyed taking an active role as an evaluator for merit badge attainment.
In his free time John enjoyed singing Barbershop style quartet and could be found with his quartet practicing harmonies on the golf course as they waited to “T” off. As a retiree he believed in “giving back” and was a well-liked volunteer at the Suncoast Hospital in Largo.
John is survived by his wife Elizabeth, children Edward, Jill and William and grandson, Morgan.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be offered to the Disabled American Veterans Association or the Wounded Warrior Project.
