Joy was born and raised in the Clearwater, FL area. She married the love of her life in 1958: Joel P. Brooks. During her lifetime Joy worked as a legal assistant for Mr. Dunlap and then later as a leasing agent for Heritage Presbyterian Housing Inc.
Joy is survived by her loving husband, Joel; their two daughters, Luwanda Brooks (Carl) and Marsha Adkins (Gary); two grandsons, Adam and Cody; and many nieces and nephews.
