

Judith was born on May 6, 1941, in Scranton, Pennsylvania, to Robert and Eva Proudlock. One of six children, she lived in several states as a child, including Pennsylvania, Washington and New Jersey. She was predeceased by her brothers, Robert and Richard Proudlock, and is survived by her sisters, Grace, Dorothy, and Eve.
In 1958, Judy met the love of her life, Tom D’Amore. They were
married in 1960 and built a life centered on family, faith, and devotion. The family settled in Kearny, New Jersey. There, Judy was a devoted stay-at-home mother and an active volunteer at her children’s Catholic school. Summers were especially cherished by Judy and were often spent with her family and sisters on Culver’s Lake in New Jersey, enjoying swimming at the clubhouse, boating, women’s club activities, and creating lifelong memories.
In December 1976, Judy and Tom moved their family to Florida to escape the cold northern winters. She quickly fell in love with the sunshine and especially treasured time spent at the beach, which brought her great joy and peace. Judy was a faithful member of St Jerome Catholic Church. She passed her faith on to her children by ensuring the received their sacraments.
After moving to Florida, Judy began a career as a hairdresser, a
profession she enjoyed for 25 years. Known for her warmth, kindness, and friendliness, she built lasting relationships with her clients, many of whom became dear friends.
Judy made sure The D’Amore house was always the gathering place — the home where friends and family naturally came together. Judy loved to cook and her kitchen was the heart of the home. She always fed everyone, and it was there that so many lasting memories were made.
Above all, Judy treasured her role as a grandmother and took immense joy in spending time with her grandsons, who were the light of her later years. Her love of family, faith, and appreciation for life’s simple pleasures will always be remembered.
Judy’s gentle spirit, resilience, and unwavering devotion to her family leave a lasting legacy. She will be deeply missed and forever loved. Judith was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Thomas Sr. and her son Joseph. She is survived by her children, Tom Jr. (Judy), Valerie (Andrew), and Elaine, and by her cherished grandsons: Austin, Evan, Drew, Preston, and Nicholas Long. She is also lovingly remembered by her many nieces and nephews.
