He was manager at Highway Oil Company in Clearwater FL then worked as a boat builder at Irwin Yachts. While working fulltime he attended night school at Pinellas Vocational Technical Institute to become an HVAC technician. He worked for an AC company until 2000. He then got his HVAC contractors license to open his own AC company, Kenair Inc established April 2000. Starting from nothing to building a successful HVAC company for the last 25 years. The success he achieved was due to his hard work, outstanding work ethics and honesty. He would always do the right thing for his customers and a job well done. He was a mentor and friend to his employees. He met the love of his life, Karen aka Hunzi in 1983 while making the daily bank deposits for Highway Oil at her teller window. He would have flowers delivered weekly to her at the bank and won her heart. They were married February 2, 1985. Kenny and Karen grew their family to include their 3 children, Kenny J Heidenreich Jr, April K Dobson (Matthew) and Kevin J Heidenreich (Lamija).
As years went by his favorite role as a grandparent gave him 13 grandkids. He was known as Poppy by Aiden, Liliana, Temperance, Evangeline and Sawyer. Also known as Pop by Emma, Nash and Jude. And was Grandpa to Wesley, Alexis,Dylan, Taylor and Mackenzie. He cherished his little people. "I live my life a quarter mile at a time" was his motto for his love of American Muscle cars. He would be in his shop restoring some of the best classics, mainly Mopar. He spent endless hours at the shop with his car buddies restoring his 1970 Plymouth Roadrunner, 1974 Dodge Dart Sport, 1966 Pontiac GTO, 1968 Dodge Dart Convertible and son Kevin's 1974 Plymouth Duster. This led to cruising the beach, car shows and many trophies. Kenny was self made man, a DIY guy that could build and fix anything with never ending projects. He was a self taught (no Youtube) wood worker. His huge collection of tools and machinery came from his quote "every job has a tool." He built furniture and wood decor. He also played the guitar and was an avid Karaoke signer especially with his 5 siblings recording The Heidenreich Christmas CD. He loved the Heidenreich Thanksgiving with long hours of Euchre card games, charades and karaoke with Aunt Sue's mashed potatoes. He was a big fan of the in laws Christmas grab bag game. His childhood consisted of constantly relocating which is why it was important to him to keep his kids in a stable home and school environment, the first home for 13 years and current home for 30 years. Kenny was preceded in death by his parents, Ronnie and Gloria Heidenreich, his brother Ronnie C Heidenreich and sister Juanita Adams. He will be truly missed by his loving wife of 40 years and his 3 kids, 13 grandkids and all his friends and family.
