CHASE, Leon F. “Lee” 83 of Clearwater died Thursday, April 15, 2021. He was born in Concord, NH and attended schools there and graduated from Concord High School in June 1955. He was a 1957 graduate of Leland Powers School of Radio, TV & Theatre in Boston, Ma.
Soon after graduation he moved to Clearwater, Florida. He graduated from St. Petersburg College in June 1972 and the University of South Florida in December 1974.
He served in the Military for two years mostly with the U.S. Army Air Defense Command 2nd Region Headquarters Communication Center in Ft. George G. Meade, Md.
He worked as a bank teller and radio announcer in Bangor, Maine and Clearwater, Fl. He was also a Public Relation Director for two years at MGM’s Bounty Exhibit in St. Petersburg. Additionally, he worked as a Recreational Sailing instructor at the University of Hawaii, Honolulu in the 1970’s.
His hobbies include photography, scuba diving, sailing, and lecturing/teaching of boating safety & navigation courses during 20 of his years in Clearwater & Honolulu.
Survivors include his wife of 39 wonderful years, Diane; Brother, Melvin and Sister-in-law Ruth; 5 Nieces and Nephews; 11 Great Nieces and Nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Melvin & Marguerite Chase.
