Linda Sparta, age 68, entered into Heaven’s gates to be with her Lord and Savior surrounded by her family on Saturday, March 31, 2018, at her home in Seminole. She was born July 25, 1949, in Mineola, NY, to James and Mildred (Brandes) Dionian. She was a 1968 graduate of Bay Shore High School, Bay Shore, NY. Linda married Nick Sparta on July 25, 1970. Nick and Linda did everything together and it was rare to see one without the other. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker.
Linda truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures; chatting with friends and family, and spending time with them, especially her grandsons. She had a strong faith in God and lived her life as an amazing Christ-like example to others. She enjoyed fellowship and friendships (many of them life-long) and was a member of Gulf Coast Church. Linda will be remembered for her servant’s heart, gentile spirit, and genuine compassion and love for others. Her hobbies included crocheting all types of pretty things to decorate her house and to share with others. Linda was preceded in death by her parents and brother, James Dionian.
She is survived by her loving husband of over 47 years, Nick; two daughters, Kim (David) Swaggerty and Christine (John) Kanorr; three grandsons, James, Caleb, and Collin; sister-in-law, Wendy; nieces; nephews; and cousins. Family, friends, and others whose lives Linda touched are invited to the Serenity Funeral Home in Largo, Florida from 5-8 p.m. on Friday, April 6, 2018, to reminisce, grieve, support each other and, of course, just chat. Linda’s funeral service will be held at Gulf Coast Church, in Largo, Florida at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 7, 2018.
