The Celebration of her life will be held at Serenity Gardens, Largo, Florida on March 4, 2023, at 11:00 am.
Born in Nicholson, Georgia on July 27, 1934, she was one of 12 children to Oscar and Annie Palmer. She is survived by her sister, Linda Middleton, and her brother, John Palmer.
As a freshman at the University of Georgia, she worked in the Business Administration office where she met and married our father, Gerald C. Hand. (Predeceased April 6, 1988). They moved to Atlanta, Georgia, and eventually to Jacksonville, FL where she raised their three children, Stephen G. Hand, Catherine G. Powell, and Richard C. Hand.
She attended Benton Elementary Junior and High School where she graduated in 1951. She furthered her education after raising her children by attending Florida Junior College in Jacksonville, Florida, where she earned her Associate of Arts degree. She was a member of Phi Theta Kappa/ National Honor Fraternity. She went on to the University of North Florida in Jacksonville, Florida, achieving her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Interior Design. She traveled many times to Europe to study the Arts and was an avid Artist having a great talent for painting, pencil drawings, and sculptures. She was active in her church with the Women’s Missionary Council, which was important to her.
After moving to Clearwater, Florida in 1980, she chose to go into the healthcare field, earning her Patient Care Assistant Certification where she was happy helping her clients and ministering to them about the Lord. Her business card read "Christian Nursing Care", Lottie Palmer Hand, B.A, P.C.A. She always felt compelled to share her great love of the Lord Jesus Christ while caring for the needs of others. She was always given great accolades for her service and kindness to others, looking after them as if she would her own family.
The Lord brought a special gift to her seventeen years ago when she met and married Raymond O. Moore, Sr (Predeceased December 13, 2022). They shared many happy years together always putting their love for Jesus first. They read the Bible together, prayed together, and went on many adventures together.
She is survived by her children, Stephen G. Hand (Christina), Catherine G. Powell, and Richard C. Hand (Deb). One brother, John Palmer (Gladys), and one sister Linda Middleton (Bob). She is also survived by six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews.
Also, added later in her life with her marriage to Raymond, is Raymond’s brother, Paul. Also added are stepchildren: Raymond Moore (Josie), Diana Moore (Joseph), Patricia Schubert (Mark), Tracy Farrell (Kenneth), David Moore, Debbie Morroney (Larry), and Wayne Moore (Amy). Also added 19 step-grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren along with many nieces and nephews.
What a true blessing!
If my Mother would say anything today, it would be to Trust in Jesus!! She loved Him with all her heart! His Love shone brightly through her, and it was a Joy to be with her. God Bless All of You!
