Mary Kathryn “Kitty” Koenig passed away peacefully at Palm Garden Nursing Home on Christmas evening after spending a wonderful day with her family. She was born in Lineville, Alabama, on July 25, 1924. As a young woman, she lived in Louisville, KY and Atlanta, GA while working in the religious entertainment business. She moved to the Tampa Bay area in 1956 and worked in real estate with her husband for 32 years as owners of Sun Realty Company. Mary later operated an in-home health care business for the elderly. Kitty was a fun-loving, witty woman who loved cooking, traveling and being with her family. Mary was preceded by her husband, Fred. Her life will continue to be celebrated by her only son, Wes Koenig; daughter-in-law, Renee; granddaughter, Jesica; and grandson, Matthew. Serenity Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
