I was Mark's assistant for a few years and I must say I loved working for him. He was so intelligent, kind and hilarious! He was a wonderful storyteller, so much so, that I looked forward to coming to work to hear his stories. We had so much in common from music to tv shows to outside interests. The last time we spoke, he was growing sunflowers and was looking forward to them growing up big and strong. From this day forward I will always think of Mark when I see sunflowers. To his family and friends, I'm so very sorry for your loss and hope in time your memories of him will turn from sorrow to comfort.

I had the pleasure of working with Mark when I was assigned to the criminal division where he was a staff attorney. It didn’t take long to recognize the remarkable intellect that existed under his fabulously hilarious sense of humor. Fearful that such a talented lawyer would not last long at the inappropriately low salary of his position, some of us actively lobbied Mark to apply for a higher paying, but very challenging, job in the family division. He got the position and performed it truly full-out. Mark was respected and admired by the family law judges who regularly sought his expert advise on relevant law. All of us whose lives were touched by Mark’s brilliance, wit and kindness are very fortunate.

Mark was such a good friend. He and I were both hearing officers. We talked all the time. He was so funny and so incredibly smart. I loved those calls. His humor was infectious. He was just so much fun to be around. To the family, I am so sorry for your loss. I pray God will lessen your sorrow and leave you with the cherished love and memories of Mark. He is deeply missed by us all.

Mr. Chancey is who I called him. I also worked along with Mr. Chancey. He is an amazing man. We were close in age and had a lot in common. He and I would laugh at jokes in between hearings because he was so witty. I will miss his wit and intellect and compassion for people. To his family may God bless you through these times and may he strengthen you. He talked a lot about his family as well so I feel as if I know you all. Jesus loves you.

I knew Mark through work, from ten or more years ago. In my little bit of experience, he was the kind of person who made long days shorter. He was the kind of person who made a moment for another in need when he didn't have a lot of moments to spare. I'm so sorry for your loss.

Mark was one of my favorite people I have ever met. I loved his pop culture knowledge and his sense of humor. I will never forget his infectious laugh. He was so thoughtful and a genuinely good person. He will be missed.
