

Martin R. Hartley was born in Leeds, England on June 12, 1950. He moved to Hinsdale Illinois where he met his future wife Nancy in 1970. At age 2 his family moved to Chicago where his love of baseball and the Chicago Cubs began. During high school Martin was a great wrestler and football player. In 1982 the couple moved to the Largo area of Florida where Martin continued work as a mechanic until retirement. Throughout his life he always enjoyed playing and watching baseball. He was also a very involved coach teaching kids the sport of baseball and softball. His family remembers how some Saturdays would be spent watching college football. Martin loved spending time with family and kids and watching the large collection of movies he had gathered over time. Martin R. Hartley passed away peacefully on July 27, 2013. He is predeceased by his parents Arthur and Dorothy Hartley. Survivors of his loving family include his wife of 43 years, Nancy. Son, Danny (Jacqueline) Hartley of Largo, Daughter , Elizabeth (John) Bischoff of Temple, GA. Sister, Christine Farneti of Melbourne, Fl. Brother in law, Kurt (Sandi) Huber of McHenry, IL. Grandchildren: Austin, Taylor ,Isabella and Landan. Nieces: Ashley, Lauren and Carrie, and nephew Kurt Jr, father and mother in law John and Ruth Huber. The family is having a public viewing at 11 am Saturday August 3rd with a service to follow at 12pm at Moss Feaster Serenity Gardens, 13401 Indian Rocks Rd. Largo, Fl 33774. The family ask that any donation be made to your favorite charity in honor of Martin R. Hartley. A celebration of Life will be held at the family home at the conclusion of services.
