Our beloved mother, Mary P. Triffon, passed away peacefully in her sleep the day after her 101st birthday. She was born and raised in Athens, Ohio, the daughter of Patestos and Emilie (Meimaroglou) Patestides.
As a child she especially enjoyed music, the piano and dancing. Mary attended Ohio University and was employed as a secretary/bookkeeper. She married Terry N. Triffon in 1946 after he returned from fighting overseas at the end of World War II, and they made their home in Columbus, where together they operated Triffon Plumbing Company. They had 2 daughters, Nancy Ann and Cynthia Lee Triffon.
In 1970 the family relocated from Columbus to Largo, Florida. Mary was loved by everyone who knew her. She was a wonderful cook and baker, and the family often entertained visitors from Ohio and many local friends. Mary was also a lifetime member of the Daughters of Penelope, Pelias 186 Chapter of Clearwater.
She leaves behind her two loving daughters, Nancy Triffon Long (Michael) and Cynthia Triffon, her grandson Terry (Amie), her sister Thea Tsagaris, many nieces and nephews, and her beloved long-haired dachshunds, Klaus and Khloe.
Visitation will be at 10:00 A.M. with the funeral service immediately following on Wednesday, August 12, at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 409 S. Old Coachman Rd., Clearwater, FL 33765.
