Gold, Michael “Mike” Thomas, 56 of Largo died Sunday Oct. 18th at home unexpectedly. Born Jan 3, 1959 in Clearwater he was the son of Thomas and Angela Gripp Gold. Mike worked 38 years for the City of Largo. Following in his Dad’s footsteps-who worked with the City as a Solid Waste Manager. Mike worked his way up to Safety and Training Coordinator. He was a member of SWANA (Solid Waste Association of North America) and member and state chairman of the local and international Rodeo from 1993-2012. Over his 38 years with the city he has touched many hearts and was a person that would not say no when asked to help. Mike was a big baseball fan and in his younger years he spent his time coaching little league baseball He is survived by his daughter Tiffany Ann Gold and grandson Hunter Perez of Largo, brother James Gold of Pinellas Park, sister Cindy Gold of Brooksville, FL, mother Angela Gripp Gold of Crystal River, Fl. Mike is also survived by 4 step children. Funeral will be 2pm Sunday Oct 25th at Serenity F.H. Largo. Visitation will be 12-2pm prior at the funeral home. Burial Will be in Largo City Cemetery
