Born in St. Petersburg, Florida, Michael lived life with passion, drive, and a generous heart. An accomplished entrepreneur, he built and ran successful businesses. He also took great pride in his remarkable car collection through Westside Collectives. To those who knew him well, Michael was also a true cigar aficionado, always savoring good conversation as much as a fine cigar.
Above all, Michael was known by his family as a giant teddy bear — always smiling, always happy, and always making others feel welcome. His warmth, laughter, and larger-than-life presence filled every room he entered.
Michael deeply cherished time spent with his close friends, but nothing meant more to him than his two daughters, Brielle and Brianna. Being their father was one of his greatest joys and proudest roles. He was a devoted father, a loyal friend, a loving brother and grandson, and someone who showed up fully for the people he cared about.
Michael was preceded to heaven by his mother, Kathy Johnson. He leaves behind his daughters, Brielle and Brianna Westwood; his brother Shayne Sallee; his girlfriend, Summer Galvin; his ex-wife, Linda Scott; his grandparents Frank and Barbara Burkett; his Aunt Kelly Brubaker; his Uncles Frank and Tom Burkett and many friends.
A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held on Sunday, February 15, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. A Memorial Service will follow at 2:00 PM, with a reception immediately afterward, Serenity Funeral Home, 13401 Indian Rocks Road, Largo, FL 33774.
