Nancy J. Downes

Downes, Nancy Jeanne, 71, of Clearwater passed peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family on Friday April 11, 2014. Born September 6, 1942 in Chicago, Illinois, she was the daughter of the late John Edward and Mary Oslac Carbonneau. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, gifted cook and homemaker. She found great joy preparing meals for her loved ones and was happiest with a crowd around her table. Her ability to nurture the heart and soul of others will be dearly missed.She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 51 years, Edward Dennis Downes; daughters, Maureen (Ken) Martin of Illinois, Anne Marie (Robert) Sterczek of Florida and Kelly Downes of Illinois; grandchildren, Liam, Tess, Caleb and Madeleine; brother Jim (Nannette) Carbonneau of Virginia and many fond nieces and nephews including John Edward Carbonneau and Lauren and Hunter Kiser.Although we feel sorrow, we know she is happy to be reunited with her best friend, husband and love of her life who she has missed dearly since his passing nine months ago.A funeral service will be held at noon Tuesday, April 15 at Moss Feaster Funeral Home-Serenity Gardens Chapel.
