Nancy Carolyn Russell

Nancy left this world and went to see Jesus on July 18, 2026. Nancy was originally from Indiana, where she met her husband, Robert D. Russell. They moved to Largo, Florida in 1989. She loved her home and spent all her remaining years in that house.

Nancy loved her cars and at one point owned 4 and just couldn’t let any of them go.

Nancy worked as a manager at Lerner’s retail store for 20 years. She also worked at Sweetbay Supermarket and Kash N’ Karry in their floral and produce departments for many years.

Nancy was an avid gardener, doing all the planting and landscaping of their home herself. Her husband referred to their backyard as ‘Her Jungle!’ As a younger woman she was a striking beauty with dark hair and a bold style. Later she went blonde and carried it off stunningly with hair and makeup always just so. She had an easy, bold, happy laugh that all who knew her enjoyed.

Nancy was kind and generous to all and loved baking pies, especially during the Holidays. She would invite family and put on a feast. Nancy loved family history and she could tell interesting stories. What a treasure!

She was an animal lover and had both cats and dogs.

Her long-time companion Bill Freeland has been incredibly supportive and loyal to Nancy. They shared a love of travel, and he generously took her on many cruises and vacations locally and globally.

Nancy is predeceased by her husband, Robert D. Russell; her parents, Ted and Beulah Perry; her brother, Ronald Perry; and her sister, Patty White.

Nancy is survived by her sister, Kay Gutierrez; her son, William J. Russell; nieces, Sharon Golmon and Lori Dodge; nephew, Chris White; and her brother-in-law, William (Bill) Russell.

On a final note, Kay said, one of the last things Nancy said to her while in the hospital was, “…you know, I don’t have anything here with me. I need some lipstick!” So Nancy!

We love you, Nancy, and you will be missed!
