Gardner, Patricia “Pat” (Parkinson), 89, of Largo passed away at Suncoast Hospice House on Friday June 15th. She died from complications after a stroke. A longtime area resident, she spent most of the last decade at Pinecrest Place in Largo. She thoroughly enjoyed her time there and valued the many close friends she made at Pinecrest. Pat was born in Kansas City, Mo. On Feb. 1st 1923 and moved to Indian Rocks Beach in 1954. As an adult, she also lived, for a few years, in Raytown, MO, Toledo, OH and Zephyrhills, FL. She is survived by her son, Tom Parkinson and his wife Marlaine of Orlando, FL; Daughter Terry Lee Hall and her husband Wally of West Brookfield, MA; Grandchildren, Mollie Parkinson of Largo, Tony Hall of

Northampton, MA and Hannah Hall of West Brookfield, MA. Her first husband Truman “Parky” Parkinson died in 1969 and her second husband, Dale Gardner, died in 1992. Her dear friend and companion, Bob Heidorn died in 2006. Pat was also predeceased by her parents, Arthur and Rose Marie Moore and her three sisters, Helen Cornell, Kathryn Moore and Marjorie Brownfield. Pat also leaves behind three nieces in the Kansas City area: Carol Munoz, Barbara Brownfield and Deborah Carle. She will also be missed by her best friends, Rita Fahey and Marie Koch. Marie and Pat were close friends for more than 50 years. Pat was a homemaker and mother and also worked as an administrative assistant in the construction industry. She was an avid bridge enthusiast and played at least twice a week until the week before her death. She also loved cats and enjoyed the company of several feline friends including “Penrod” when she was a child and “Delia” who lived with her for many years. She was very patriotic and volunteered for the USO and other organizations supporting American troops during WW II. Pat was a longtime Democrat and a devoted supporter of President Barack Obama. She was a Christian, a former member of Christ the King Lutheran Church in Largo and, in recent years, a member of Anona United Methodist Church.
