She grew up in Marshall, VA, and later moved to McDonough, GA, where she spent 60 wonderful years filled with family, fellowship, and faith. It’s here that she raised her sons, became a beloved member of the First Baptist Church of McDonough - regularly attending her close-knit “Joyful Bunch” and Madden Sunday School class - and served as a longtime member of the Women of the Moose. She retired from her work with the federal government after 33 years of civil service. She spent her sunset years in sunny Seminole, FL, surrounded by a loving family who cherished her.
Peggy was extremely kindhearted and a treasured friend to many, lovingly described by her family as a “social butterfly.” She also had a quick sense of humor and a sharp wit, guaranteeing that smiles and laughs would be shared whenever she was around. She found joy in community, whether she was playing cards, square dancing, traveling, antiquing, or simply gathering with loved ones.
She is survived by her son James (“Tony”) Patrick; granddaughters Amanda (Matt) Drake, Amber Grimes, and Katherine (Steven) James; and great-grandchildren Xavier (Jady), Carlie, David Jr., Sarenity, Eliana, and Nora. She is preceded in death by her son, Terrell (“Terry”) Patrick.
Services will be held on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, at Serenity Funeral Home (13401 Indian Rocks Rd, Largo, FL 33774). Visitation will begin at 1:00pm, with a memorial service at 2:00pm, followed by a procession for graveside ceremonies at 3:00pm in the onsite Serenity Gardens Memorial Park.
