Philip Charles Dolan passed peacefully on September 23. Philip grew up in Dumont NJ where he attended Dumont High School before attending Rutgers University where he achieved a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering. After his working career Philip moved to Florida to be near family and last resided in Largo, Florida. He was an avid sports fan and loved the Dallas Cowboys and playing and coaching basketball. He had an uncanny knack for detailed memories of games and experiences which he would recite during numerous holiday celebrations with his family including his parents and seven brothers.
Philip was predeceased by his parents Anne and John Dolan and his brother John. He is survived by his other six brothers including Bryan (Joyce), Vincent (Lorene), Robert (Paige), Raymond (Virginia), Lawrence (Allison) and Paul (Janis) as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.
A private family service will take place on November 28 at Serenity Gardens in Largo, Florida followed by a public Celebration of Life with details to follow. In lieu of flowers the family respectfully recommends donations in Philip’s honor to Empath Suncoast Hospice or The Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption.
The family wishes to extend sincere gratitude to all of the people in Philip’s life, in particular his favorite doctor Jackie and all of the wonderful staff at the Lake House and the great staff of Empath Suncoast Hospice who provided such excellent care.
