Victor Wood, Cdr. U.S. Navy (Ret.), was born in Bryn Mawr, PA and earned a B.A. in Economics from Washington & Jefferson College. He spent the last 19 years of his life in Indian Rocks Beach where he was active in city matters: Past President of IRB Action 2000 and Founder of the Indian Rocks Beach Annual Flag Retirement Ceremony. Military services include Officer Candidate School (OCS) and a 20-year military career on active duty and in the USN Reserves. Corporate positions held by Victor included Director of McDonald’s International Real Estate, President/CEO of Burger King Canada and Sr. VP of Payless ShoeSource. He was also Past President of the Clearwater Chapter of the Military Officers Association of America (MOAA) and a member of its St. Petersburg Chapter.
Victor is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Beryl, two sons, Rurik T. H. Wood (Rebecca) and Jason D. V. Wood (Kelly). He was preceded in death by a son, Harold, and a grandson, Jaiden.
A Celebration of Victor's Life will be held at Calvary Episcopal Church, 1615 1st Street, Indian Rocks Beach, FL at 2 pm on Sunday, April 7, 2013, with Military Honors immediately following. Interment at St. David's Episcopal Church Cemetery, Wayne, PA.
