It is with much sadness we announce the passing of our beloved Bob, who left us on March 23, 2018. Bob was born in Manchester, CT on June 17, 1963. He was the youngest child of Henry and Dolores Berdat. Through his years growing up in Manchester, Bob played on many sports teams including Midget Football, Little League Baseball and was on the Manchester High baseball and football teams. He was an avid sports fan, loving his Yankees and Oakland Raiders. Bob also had a passion for sporty cars and he owned quite a few. He loved music, dancing and Journey was his favorite band.
Bob graduated from Manchester High School in 1981 and went on to earn a Bachelor's degree from Northeastern University in 1986. After working in the computer field for many years, Bob achieved an MBA from Rennesler Polytech Institute in 1993. He worked for several high tech computer companies in executive positions.
After college Bob developed a passion for long distance running and after extensive training he ran many marathons including Boston, New York and San Francisco.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Dolores who recently passed. He is survived by his father, Henry Berdat of Largo, FL; his sisters, Darlene (Berdat) Cavan and her husband Joel of Highlands Ranch, CO , Laurie (Berdat) Arel of South Windsor, CT; his five nephews, Joshua, Sean and Tyler Cavan of Highlands Ranch, CO along with Daryn and Devyn Arel of South Windsor, CT; his uncle and Godfather, Richard Dubanoski and his Auntie Joannie of Kailua, HI; and his girlfriend, Suzette Meyers of St. Petersburg, FL. Bob had numerous cousins, relatives and friends all over the U.S. that will miss his warm spirit.
Services are scheduled in Manchester, CT with a Wake on Tuesday, April 10, 2018 from 5-8PM at John Tierney Funeral Home, followed by a Mass on Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at St. James Church. Bob will be interred in the family plot at St. James Cemetery.
Memorial donations in Bob's name can be made to Mental Health America, 500 Montgomery St. Alexandria, VA 22314 or to your local ASPCA, as Bob was a huge animal lover.
