Friday August 9, 2019 Robert "Bob" D. Minier passed away at the age of 73 in an motor vehicle accident while vacationing in the Smoky Mountains. Bob was the second son born to Russell and Bertha Minier in Newark, NJ. on May 24, 1946. He is survived by Donna Minier (wife of 53 years), Katrina & Bruce Creighton (Daughter & Son-in-Law), Jesca Conley (Granddaughter), Robert & Wendi Minier Jr (Son & Daughter-in-Law), Evan Minier (Grandson), Russell & Hazel Minier (Brother).
Robert moved to Florida when he was 10yrs old and settled in Clearwater, Fl. He graduated from Dunedin High School, Earned an Electrical Engineering Certificate, Worked Tampa Steel Mill, ECI St. Petersburg Fl. a government contractor and working from the back room of the family home, began the legacy of Minier TV. Eventually establishing stores on Walsingham Rd and two locations on Seminole Blvd. Robert also owned the Charlie & Millie's Pizza on Seminole Blvd in Seminole, Fl. 1976-1978.
Robert was honorary Santa Clause for the Clearwater Police Dept Toys-For-Tots toy drive in 1980 & 1981, Member of the Florida Electronics & Service Association, a Freemason of Star Lodge 78 in Largo, Fl., a 32nd degree Shriner with the Egypt Temple, Tampa, past member of the The York Rite, The Scottish Rite and the Royal Order of the Jesters. He was worshipful Master of Star Lodge 78 and is a lifetime member Fraternal Order of Free Masons. He was a member of the Goldwing Road Rider Association, became FL-1A Chapter Director. Robert also achieved his lifelong dream of owning a Corvette.
Robert loved life, adventure, and excitement. Whether it was boating, motorcycling, cars, Jeeps, ATVs, model airplanes, or RC Toy car & trucks, Robert loved life. He had compassion for people and animals. Even "Hunting" was more mudding in his "Green Machine" Jeep and feeding Hostess Twinkies the deer. He has traveled to the 4 corners of the continental USA on a motorcycle, Robert was a passionate in his Freemasonry, his Professional career, his Corvette and his Motorcycling yet, it paled in comparison to the commitment, love and compassion he gave to his family and friends. If you needed anything, Robert had your back without question. He lived life with huge sense of humor, humility, and strived to bring smiles and laughter to everyone he met. Robert could make your belly hurt from laughter and your cheeks sore from the endless smiles.
Celebration of Life will be held at Serenity Funeral Home on Saturday, September 7th, 2019 at 4pm. Star Lodge No. 78, F.&A.M. of Largo, FL will perform a Masonic Service in Bob's honor.
