Robert W Varney

Robert W. Varney, 71, of Largo, FL passed away February 17, 2017 and joined his beloved wife of 34 years, Lisa, in heaven. Bob will be especially missed by his younger sisters and their families; Dorothy Sikes and her husband Douglas; and Wendy Chambers and her husband Jeffery. He also leaves behind a niece, Holly Kaufmann, and her family as well as a nephew, David Sikes, and his family who thought Bob was a special person. In addition, he leaves behind his uncle, Nicholas Pagani; two brothers, Richard Varney and John Varney; a sister, Donna DePaulo and many cousins, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Theresa and Chester Varney, Sr, and a brother, Chester Varney, Jr. Bob will be deeply missed by his long-time friends, Bob Spaziani and Wayne and Renate Wilford. He was truly grateful for their friendship and appreciated the time they invested in their relationships. Bob was an avid reader and enjoyed clipping comics and articles of interest to mail to family members, along with his commentary. His sense of humor, bright blue eyes and smile endeared him to those who knew him. He was a graduate of the class of 1964 of Manchester High School in Manchester, CT. Early on in his career he worked as a tool and die maker for Pratt & Whitney Aircraft in East Hartford, CT. He eventually retired as a Union carpenter and he and Lisa transitioned to the warmer and much loved climate of Florida. Donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association , P.O. Box 15829, Arlington, VA, 22215 A memorial service will be arranged at a later date. Burial will be private.
