Rosella C. Morrissey, 93, of Seminole, FL, passed away peacefully on June 3, surrounded by her loving family at Morton Plant Hospital. She lived a life defined by devotion — to her family, her community, and the joy of bringing people together.
A graduate of Kean University with a Master's in Education, Rosella began her teaching career in Bloomfield, NJ, where she also found the love of her life. She met Joseph P. Morrissey on the bowling lanes, and the two went on to share 50 wonderful years of marriage. Together, they raised their family and eventually put down roots in Seminole, FL, where Rosella completed her teaching career as a beloved kindergarten teacher at Seminole Elementary.
Beyond the classroom, Rosella was a woman of warmth and vitality. She had a deep love of music, dancing, traveling, and cruises. She enjoyed Hallmark movies, fine dining, and what her family affectionately knew as "retail therapy." But above all, her greatest pleasure was simply gathering with the people she loved.
Rosella and Joe were long-standing members of the Seminole Elks Club, cherishing the camaraderie and supporting their philanthropic efforts. Rosella proudly served as Past Lady President of the Club, a role that reflected her natural gift for leadership and community.
She is survived by her children Mark and spouse, Maureen Schuler, and Michele Fewster; her brothers Anthony, John, and Dean Cilli; her five grandchildren; and her three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Joe, her parents Alice and Vito, and her brother Roger — all of whom, we trust, were there to welcome her to heaven.
Rosella graced this earth for 93½ years. She leaves behind a family richer for every moment spent in her presence.
