On January 30, 2026, at age 81, the matriarch, mother, and icon, Rosemary L. Norton, an extraordinary woman, left this world for the next, dying of "natural causes" (pneumonia being the official cause of death) at the end of a long, blessed life, surrounded by the loving children who adored her.
Born on July 29, 1944, Rosemary was known as a loving, caring person and a bastion of strength for everyone. She is survived by her children, Ronald Norton, Belinda Robertson, Thomas Lang, and Leo Christie, who will continue to carry the memory of a woman who touched so many lives with her kindness.
At Clearview United Methodist Church, she was much more than a member of the congregation. She was the heartbeat of the community and the embodiment of God's love in a place where love abounded. Rosemary was known for her kindness, timeless wisdom, and unfailing generosity, all rooted in a spirit that never saw a day as anything less than bright.
The happy memories we collect, the struggles we share, and the accomplishments we are proud of have all come from a life full of courage, love, and the beautiful faith of Rosemary Norton. Her death marks the end of a life but also the beginning of an inspiring legacy.
She is not here with us in body, but she is here in spirit, and she teaches us how to live as beautifully as she lived her own life. Rosemary L. Norton will live in our hearts, minds, and souls forever.
While we mourn her passing, we offer our thoughts and prayers to her children, who mourn the death of their beloved mother, and to the family she cherished so dearly. May we strive to follow her example in how we live our lives and become like her, a mother, a friend, an example, and a woman of faith.
Rest peacefully, dear Rosemary, for you have passed through this world with grace and have illuminated it for eternity.
A funeral service will be held at Clearview United Methodist Church, located at 4515 38th Ave N, St. Petersburg, FL 33713, on February 12, 2026, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm.
