Roy Bloomquist

Roy was born on September 7, 1942, to Roy Gustave Bloomquist and Dorothy Patricia Bloomquist in Long Island, New York. At seventeen years old, Roy joined the United States Navy. After Roy served in the Navy, Roy met his wife Winnie on February 23, 1965, in their hometown and got married on September 17, 1967. They would have celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary next month. Roy had a career in sales where he then went on to start is own company, Electronic Precepts of Florida in 1981.

Roy is survived by his wife, Winnie; his daughters, Lisa Walter, Christine Mont (Brian), Tracy Carr (Shane) and Denise Cantrell (Robby) who blessed him with ten grandchildren, Alyssa, Alec, Taylor, Alyvia, Kyle, Cole, Julia, Reese, Bryce, and Savannah. Siblings, Terri Rice and Lorie Giordano.

Roy was predeceased by his Father Roy, mother Dorothy, Siblings Richard, and Patti Koch.

The family will host a visitation on Friday, August 23rd at 4:00-5:00PM with a service and sharing of memories at 5pm, Serenity Funeral Home, 13401 Indian Rocks Road, Largo, FL 33774. The reception will follow from 6:00-9:00PM, Imperial Point Clubhouse, 14950 Sovereign Dr., Largo, FL 33774. The graveside service will be held on Saturday, August 24th at Serenity Gardens Memorial Park at 9:00 am.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation or It Starts in the Classroom, both organizations Roy felt strongly about.
