Ruthmarie Ann Altizer

Ruthmarie was born on April 21, 1932, in Buffalo, NY, to Rose and Matthew Hearn. She graduated from South Park High School and spent her life devoted to her family, career, and community.

In 1950, Ruthmarie married William Gavin, with whom she spent 42 years before his passing. She later married Harrell Altizer, and together they shared 33 loving years.

Throughout her life, Ruthmarie had a successful career in sales and real estate, known for her dedication and commitment to those she worked with. She was also an active member of the St. Jerome Eucharistic Ministry and was a member of the Sandpipers Golf League. Ruthmarie had a deep passion for knitting, needlepoint, golf, and travel, and she cherished the time spent with her family and friends.

She is survived by her children: William (Susan), Mary (Donald), Sam (Debby), Ruth (Michael), and Kenan. Ruthmarie is also survived by her grandchildren: Heather (Brian), Lauren (Matt), Ryan (Elizabeth), Eric, Bryan, Kevin, Nick, JJ, Kyla, Gavin, Jacquelyn (Zach), and Nicholas (Caroline), as well as great-grandchildren Taylor, Kylie, Lexi, Brayden, Logan, Ella, Jackson, Cameron, and Josie.

A visitation and prayer service will be held at Serenity Funeral Home on February 14, 2025 from 5-7. Funeral services will be held at St. Jerome Catholic Church on February 15, 2025. A rosary service will begin at 11:00 a.m., with mass to follow at 11:30 a.m.

Ruthmarie’s warmth, kindness, and love will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered.
