

MILLER, Samuel F. 91, of Largo, passed away Dec 25, 2013 at the Bay Pines VA Medical Center. He was a WWII veteran and recipient of the Purple Heart. He fought the war in the Pacific and was a member of the 22nd Bomb Group, 2nd Bomb Squadron. He retired from the Air Force after 20 years and worked another 22 years as a letter carrier for the Seminole and Largo Post Office. He was a Mason at Clearwater Lodge 127 and a Shriner at the Egypt Shrine of Tampa. He enjoyed golfing, sailing, bowling, and poker but his lifelong passion was flying, and he was a member of the EAA for many years. Sam was preceded in death by his wife Barbara "Carol" Miller and his son Sherrod L. Miller. He is survived by his son David (Sherry) Miller of Kenner, LA; daughters Barbara (Terry) Kyle of Largo, Karen Elliott of Jupiter, and Lisa (Jon) Moore of Haines City. He had 14 grandchildren, Lena Miller, Michael (Christi) Miller, Lorelei Miller, Mark Miller, Brett Miller, Daniel Miller, Alan Miller, Dr. Scott (Jennifer) Ososky, Mark (Pam) Mestrovich IV, Lauren Mestrovich, Kate Elliott, Devin (Jamie) Casson, Ashley (Cesar) Lopez, Rachel Moore; and 6 great-grandchildren, Phoenix Miller, Gianna Mestrovich, Brianna Mestrovich, Mark Mestrovich V, Chase Casson, Lily Casson, and one on the way, Ava Marie Lopez. The family wishes to thank the entire staff and volunteers at the Bay Pines VA Medical Center, especially the East Wing of the CLC and Hospice for taking such good care of him.
