With my deepest sympathy to Steve's son Anthony, Steve's sisters and families and to his extended family in Florida during this very sad time of their lives.  Steve put up a good fight, but it wasn't meant to be.  I am so happy his pain is gone, and he is with his beloved wife Pinky whom he missed so much. Please accept our heartfelt sympathies during this difficult time.  Our thoughts and prayers are with you.  I always enjoyed our visits to Platteville, and on the farm.  We had a lot of fun in those days growing up and getting into trouble.  My cousin Steve had a way about himself.  Steve was always happy to see you, had a smile on his face, and could tell the best stories that had you laughing the following day.  I wish I could've gotten a chance to spend some time with Steve and his family in Florida.  I know it would've felt like no time had passed at all.  Steve was loved by many and will be missed. We are so sorry for your loss. It was fun growing up with Steve and I have such fun memories of our family get togethers in Platteville and on the farm. We were also fortunate to be able to spend some time with him in Florida a few years ago. He was quite the storyteller and we had many laughs. We may also be experts on the schematics of fire engines now :-) Hoping happy memories help the entire family through this difficult time. I am so grateful that I was able to reconnect with my cousin Steve in 2017.   It was like no time had passed, as he was still easy to talk with, funny, and how he made me laugh.   Steve left a mark on this world, and I am saddened with his departure. I know our entire family feels the same.  

Steve was a one in a million. I can remember all the great times we had as kids at either the farm and his home in Platteville. Diane and I were the oldest so were expected to behave a little better than the rest of the tribe but with Steve it was hard as he was always coming up with fun ways to have a great time that were not always what our parents would have "approved" of. We would all run through the woods pretending to ride our "horses" or during the winter riding our sleds on any hill we could find no matter the obstacles. As adults I did not see Steve often but when I did it was like we had never been apart. He had that wonderful personality that accepts everyone for how they are, no judgements. He will be missed on this earth as there are not many like him. I am so sorry for your loss Anthony but always remember that both your parents are with you in your heart and will be close by at all times. You can still speak to them whenever and wherever you want. Take care and I do hope to see you sometime soon. Your aunts are always there for you and I know you already know that. To my uncle Steve.  Man, you were one fun guy! I’ll never forget how you taught me that you never needed  a comb because you had the “Comb Claw”, or that I didn’t need a  bar to hang from or for pull-ups because you had something stronger attached to your shoulders.  Then after I took hold, you thumped me on the head and laughed your wild laugh with eyes bugging out.  I think you had a great way to keep things fun and lighthearted, and I think that’s the best way to live life.  The beauty is that you were able to pass that along to others.  I don’t think you would want anyone to be sad that you are gone, but I think you would agree that the best way to honor your memory is to pass along some joy and fun to others.  That’s why I’ll try to pass on the legacy of the “comb claw” to others.  Rest in Paradise Unc!  

Uncle Steve, you were definitely one of a kind😊. I enjoyed hearing about your stories and all the concerts you went to growing up.  I thought that was so cool.  I’m so glad I was able to see you at my wedding.  It’s a great memory I won’t forgot.  I know you are up there dancing with Pinky and still being so cool.  I’ll definitely miss you.  Lori 

To my brother Steve.  Growing up we had so many great times.  Going fishing, playing in the woods at our grandparents with our cousins, and just hanging out with all of our neighborhood friends.  You were a wonderful son, brother, husband, and father.  I will miss you so much.  Love your sister Cheryl.

To My Brother- I have many memories of our younger years and you know one of my favorite ones is Mom chasing you around the outside of our house in Platteville while you were on our little Honda motorcycle with Mom yelling don't think I can't catch you. It still makes me smile. I also had a great time with you and Anthony at Busch Gardens. Lots of good pictures of both of you from the safari ride. So glad Sara and I came to visit in March. I was able to give you lots of hugs and tell you how great of a brother you are. I know I will see you again. Always loved you and always will. Your Oldest Sister Diane

We miss you Steve.  You were the coolest  brother with your awesome  hair (back in the day) and beautiful smile.  Loved it when you played the guitar and sang the "Secret Agent Man" song.  Miss the good old days when we all went fishing together.  Now you are with Mom and Dad.  You can go fishing and hunting together again and Mom will do her fantastic cooking and make it taste like a million dollar meal.  We Love you.  Your sister, Tina.

You were an uncle and a brother. Even when I didn’t listen you taught me the way. This is one I’ll never recover from. I love you forever Bill. 

my name is tim jackson and ive worked for the city of largo for 17 years and became good friends with steve, he was one of our best mechanics and good guy jus in general and it really hurt my heart to hear he had passed on... To his family i give my deepest condolences and prayers as you prepare to say goodbye, steve was a really good man and wiil be dearly missed... You can finally rest my good friend no more suffering.. May God hold you.... 

Steve was one of the best mechanics I have ever worked with. He really enjoyed fixing the trucks and telling you what was wrong and how he was going to fix it with a lot of detail why. 

I was honored to know Steve through his work at the City. He was such a dedicated, hardworking person. I enjoyed our connection through Platteville where he grew up and I went to college. I know he fought a good fight against this and did all he could. May his family know how special and dedicated he was. I will miss him and his sense of humor.
