Teresa Shahriari

Teresa Shahriari passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 8th. She was born Teresa Matuska on May 20th, 1945, and grew up in Radosc, Poland, near Warsaw. She immigrated to the United States in 1969 and settled in Chicago. While studying and working she met a handsome Iranian named Behzad Shahriari. They were married in Chicago on September 29,1972 and after a few cold winters, they left Chicago and settled in warm, sunny Indian Rocks Beach, FL.

Teresa was preceded in death by her parents, Zofie and Antoni Matuska. She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Behzad and her children, Paul (Sybil) Shahriari of Cape Coral, FL and Michael (Katie) Shahriari of Decatur, GA. Teresa was a proud and loving grandmother to Sophia, Isabella, Meagan and Ryan Shahriari. She was a beloved older sister to Zygmunt (Wanda) Matuska of Indian Rocks Beach, FL, a loving aunt to her many nieces and nephews, and a dear friend to all.

Visitation will be held Friday, November 17, 2023 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Serenity Funeral Home, 13401 Indian Rocks Rd, Largo, FL 33774. The funeral mass will be held Saturday, November 18, 2023 at 11:00 am, St. Jerome Catholic Church, 10895 Hamlin Blvd, Largo, FL 33774.

Interment will be private.
