I will miss u Ted and rest in peace.U fought a hard battle and now u are going to yr reward with our heavenly father.I will miss yr smile and yr knowledge on plants.

So how do you say goodbye,I know my dad fought a long hard battle and we were so fortunate to of had him as long as we did. As the doctors would say they couldn't explain why his illness hadn't taken him sooner. Just when we would think ."this is it' he would turn around and start being bossy again. Lol  He was such a fighter. Call it a will to live, or as we would call it " being a stubborn German". Well whatever it was I am so thankful that we had the time that we did. In the last couple years of these up and down battles I was so fortunate to spend some really good quality time with my dad. As most all know I live in Texas so my time in Florida was limited but that didn't stop our closeness. I would call my dad every morning . It actually was kinda funny because my parents knew to expect that call. I don't think they ever had to set an alarm to wake up. Lol . With those calls I was as close to them as if I lived there and my Dad loved it. ( even if I woke him sometimes). When I would visit we had long conversations about how much he loved my mother and our family. He told me he lived a full life and has no regrets, he got to see  and do many many things.  I truly think he held on so long because of love and not wanting to leave his family. He fought hard,but it was time. After saying all that I still struggle with how do you say goodbye? How do you say goodbye to the one constant in your life? To the one person who has been there since the beginning . To the one who calls you daddy's little girl when your almost 50. How do you say goodbye when you just don't want to? So I am going to move forward Knowing that he won't ever totally leave me because he is a part of all of us.  When I look in the mirror I will always see him in my face. When I fight hard I will know that comes from him and when I love with all my heart I will again know. So daddy on this day lets not say goodbye. Let's say until we see each other again in Gods kingdom. For now I will live my life with all the things you have taught me and live my life to the fullest just like you did!
I love you so much daddy! I know you knew that and I know how much you loved me.

I will forever hold my dear beloved Uncle Ted in my heart.  I cherish the memory of his smile, the fun and laughter he always brought into the room, but most of all I am so thankful and grateful for the genuine love I always felt from his heart.  Praying for my Aunt Pat, and cousins Mark, Cheryl, and Scott during this difficult time.  Love you all!
