Mr. Walter Jennerich, 89, of Largo Florida died peacefully at Largo Hospital on November 18, 2025. Walt was born on March 29, 1936, in Brooklyn, NY, to William James Jennerich and Anna Johanna Whicker. He graduated from George Westinghouse High School. He enlisted in the US Navy in 1954 and served on the USS Mount McKinley until his honorable discharge in 1957. He was married to Joanne Elizabeth Cousens on February 21, 1965. Walt worked in the legal profession for over 40 years, most recently as the owner of Wallet Recovery, LLC, in Great Neck, NY.
Walt and Joanne retired to Florida in 2001. He had a passion for veterans and children with cancer, donating generously to Wounded Warriors, Tunnel to Towers, St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, and Shriner’s Hospital for Children his entire adult life.
He enjoyed fishing, golf, coin collecting and stamp collecting, country music (Donna Fargo!), dancing with Joanne, and spending time with his family. It’s impossible to summarize such a huge life in a few short paragraphs. If you knew him, you knew his love and generosity. He would give you the shirt off his back and did! You also knew his sense of humor. He always kept the party laughing.
He is preceded in death by his parents and brother Bill, and granddaughter Amanda. He is survived by his wife Joanne, his sons Bob and wife Molly, Steve, Mike and wife Dyanne, Doug, and Tom and his wife Rhiannon, grandchildren, Nick and his wife Gia, Alex and his wife Lauren, Samantha, Maddie, Alli, Brian, River, Jack, and great-granddaughter, Sailor.
