Johnston, William E 89, Born in Brooklyn NY April 1, 1923 died in Largo Florida Jan, 7, 2013. William was born and raised in Brooklyn after graduating from college, he joined the U.S. Air Force during WWII. After his duties in the service, he and his wife, Doris moved to Massapequa Long Island, NY. He became a watch maker, jeweler and opened a jewelry store in 1948 in Seaford Long Island, NY named, William Johnston Jewelers. Later he moved to Pinellas County, FL, semi-retired until opening Johnston Jewelers, in Seminole FL in 1972, officially retiring at the age of 85. He is survived by his sons, Douglas Johnston, Wayne Johnston and daughter Sherry Johnston, grandson, Grant Johnston, three great grandsons Blake, Gavin and Talen, and Margaret Bennetts his longtime significant other for over 16 years. A memorial Service will be held on Friday January 11, 2013 at 4:00pm at the Anona United Methodist Church 13233 Indian Rocks Rd Largo, FL. Donations in his Memory may be made to Suncoast Hospice
