William Thornton Kirkelie

Bill graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Business from Marquette University. He was in a loving relationship with Eve von Mentzer at the time of his death and was previously married to Edith (Butterfield) (deceased) for 45 years.

Bill had a successful career in sales for American Sign and Indicator. His clients included prominent banks, the Detroit Lions, Playboy, and the Nashville Speedway. He launched a second career custom-designing acrylic aquariums and providing the service to maintain them. He was a Master Mason since 1962 and served in the Air Force for 4 years.

He shared his passion for sailing with his family and served as Treasurer of the Pistakee Yacht Club on his beloved Pistakee Lake where he had a summer cottage. He also loved golf, skiing, snowmobiling and riding his Honda motorcycle.

Bill is survived by his children, Lori Kirkelie and Bill Kirkelie Jr. (Laura); grandchildren, Morgan Fassnacht, Nicole Fassnacht, Billy Kirkelie, and Katie Kirkelie.

A visitation for William will be held Sunday, January 14, 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Serenity Funeral Home, 13401 Indian Rocks Road, Largo, FL 33774. Following the visitation will be a graveside service at Serenity Gardens Memorial Park.
