William “Bill” McAleer (Mac), Pinellas Park, passed away on Wednesday, September 8, 2021, at age 76 from Esophageal Cancer. He was born on January 22, 1945, in Washington, D.C. to Fred and Mildred McAleer. Bill lived in Arlington, Virginia until 1981, and most recently resided in Pinellas Park, Florida. He passed away peacefully at home with Kay, his wife of 54 years, by his side.
During his lifetime, Bill worked as a small engine mechanic for Arlington County Parks, co-owned B&L Auto Parts, and retired from Pinellas County Schools in 2004. He loved his retirement and spent 7 days a week golfing at the Clearwater Country Club.
He is survived by his wife, Kay; son, Theodore Loy Pryor; and daughter, Deborah Germann. He was also the proud grandpa of Caitlyn Minkle and Jacob Minkle, as well Great-Grandpa (PopPop) to Aaliyah Griffin. Bill also has one living brother, Robert McAleer. He was predeceased by his two brothers, James R. McAleer and Fred B. McAleer.
Bill will be laid to rest at Serenity Gardens in Largo, Florida. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate any donations be made to Suncoast Hospice in Bill’s name.
