Woodie Neal Tully

Born on October 8, 1934, in Crichton, Alabama, Woodie was the son of Woodie G. Tully and Velma C. Tully. From an early age, his life was marked by a deep sense of purpose that would ultimately be centered on his unwavering faith in Jesus Christ.

Woodie proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean War, stationed in the Philippines. It was there that he made the most important decision of his life by accepting Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. That commitment shaped every aspect of his life thereafter. Following his military service, he attended Baptist Bible College in Springfield, Missouri, preparing for a lifetime of Christian service.

On June 19, 1959, Woodie married the love of his life, Marie Jones Tully. Together they built a loving home in Mobile, Alabama, where they established their businesses and raised their family. In 1985, they relocated to Seminole, Florida, where they continued to invest in their community and church.

Later in life, Woodie answered God's call to ordained ministry. He faithfully served as Senior Adult Pastor at First Baptist Church of Indian Rocks, where he ministered with compassion and wisdom to countless people. Even after retirement, his heart for serving never diminished. He continued his ministry at Abundant Life Community Church, Azalea Baptist Church, and as a chaplain at Pasadena Hospital, faithfully sharing the hope and love of Christ with those he encountered.

Above all else, Woodie will be remembered for his steadfast love for Jesus. His faith was evident in every conversation, every act of kindness, and every relationship. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend whose gentle spirit, servant's heart, and unwavering testimony left a lasting impact on all who knew him.

Woodie was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Marie Jones Tully.

He is lovingly survived by his daughter, Angela Robinson (Jamie); his son, Tommy Tully; his cherished grandchildren, Whitney Robinson, Grady Robinson, Madeline Coleman, Jack Tully, and Tess Tully; great-grandchilren, Charlie, James and Caroline Coleman; his sister, Anita Tully; his brother, Bruce Tully (Jane); and his nephew, Matthew Tully (Mallory), along with many extended family members and dear friends.

While his family grieves his passing, they rejoice in knowing that Woodie is now in the presence of the Savior he loved and faithfully served throughout his life. His legacy of faith, love, and service will continue to inspire generations to come.

A Funeral Service will be held at Radiant Church in The Azalea Chapel, 7900 22nd Ave N, St. Petersburg, FL 33710, on August 10, 2026, at 2:00 pm.

A Committal Service will take place at Serenity Memorial Park And Cremation Gardens, 13401 Indian Rocks Road, Largo, FL 33774, US, on August 11, 2026, from 11:00 am to 11:30 am.
