

Born on March 2, 1936, in Nagasaki, Japan, Akemi lived a life marked by grace, resilience, and quiet strength. She was known for her loving heart, generous spirit, and deep loyalty to her family. Always impeccably dressed with her makeup thoughtfully done, Akemi carried herself with timeless elegance and dignity.
She found joy in life’s simple pleasures—shopping for hidden treasures, savoring delicious food, singing along to her favorite music, and preparing home-cooked meals that brought her loved ones together. Her happiest moments were spent surrounded by family, creating warmth and laughter with her gentle presence.
Akemi was first married to the late Kunio Yahiro, with whom she shared the joy of raising their daughter, Nana Yahiro-Schindler. She later married her beloved husband and life partner, the late Richard Nakano. With both, she built a life rooted in love, respect, and devotion.
She is survived by her devoted daughter, Nana Yahiro-Schindler, and son-in-law, Mike Schindler; her cherished granddaughter, Brianna Yahiro, and Brianna’s husband, Mike Narvaez.And her brothers Kimio Okuda of Las Vegas and Haruo Okuda his wife Yayoi Okuda of Yokohama Japan She was preceded in death by her loving parents, Hisako and Ken Okuda; her first husband, Kunio Yahiro; and her husband, Richard Nakano.
A service to celebrate Akemi’s life will be held at Palm Eastern Mortuary, 7600 South Eastern Avenue, Las Vegas, NV 89123, on June 12 at 2:00 p.m. A viewing will take place prior to the service, beginning at 11:00 a.m. All who knew and loved her are welcome to attend and share in honoring her memory.
Akemi’s life was a beautiful reflection of kindness, love, and quiet elegance. She will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever held in the hearts of those who were blessed to know her.
