He joined the US Navy in 1953 after graduation from High School. Tours of duty included Kami Seya, Japan; Bremerhaven, Germany; Cheltenham, MD; Det 28 Karamursel, Turkey; Edzell, Scotland; Guam; Hanza, Okinawa; DIRNSA K4 Ft Meade, MD; Rota, Spain; Pensacola, Fl; and COMNAVSECGRU, WASHINGTON, DC. He retired in 1987 from the United States Navy.
Alfred was employed by the National Security Agency until he retired in 1997. He then moved to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1998. Alfred volunteered at the Nellis AFB Satellite Pharmacy for 17 years for which he won several awards.
He was a Deacon in the Baptist Church and a faithful attendee.
Alfred is survived by his three sisters Norma, Donna, Deborah; his three children Barbara, Patricia, and Richard, from his first marriage; and his wife of 40 years, Candace.
Alfred was loved and respected by many.
