

Allan Francis Carter was born on July 31, 1951 in Detroit, Michigan to Mary Frances and Booker Henry Carter. He departed this life surrounded by many loved ones on October 31, 2014. Allan was educated in the Detroit Public School System and attended McKenzie High School. He received a basketball scholarship to Odessa College in Texas. After college, Allan started his career as a police officer. He moved to Las Vegas in the mid 90’s where he began a successful career in Security Management. He started at The Stratosphere Hotel & Casino at the entry level position as a security officer. Soon he began to gain the attention of his managers because of his work ethic and attention to detail. Allan was promoted to Supervisor and later to Manager. He was awarded the coveted Icahn Award. This award was a direct reflection of his unmatched effort to provide a safe environment for guests and employees. While working at Arizona Charlie’s Boulder, Allan met the love of his life, Kathy. He and Kathy cherished the last ten years together in their Henderson home. Allan was a kind and loving husband, a strong and protective father, a good man with a good heart. Allan taught his sons to stand for what is right even if you must stand alone. He lived a life of integrity and honor. Allan had an unshakable belief in his faith and spent countless hours educating himself in religious and spiritual learning. Allan received his doctorate degree of Divinity from IDMR. Although Allan was terminally ill, he lived his life to the fullest. He and Kathy enjoyed traveling and experiencing the outdoors. Allan led Bible studies, enjoyed cooking and fine food, and spent valuable time with family and friends. He leaves to cherish his memory: his loving wife, Kathleen Carter; parents, Booker and Mary Frances Carter; sons, Allan Jr., Michael (Andreka), Jason (Neshaye), and Jared Brennan; sister, Sandra Clouston; brothers, Robert (Helen), Richard (Stefani), and Gerald; 11 grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. Allan was preceded in death by his sister Marilyn Edwards.
