Al, also known as “Red”, was an Air Force Veteran and retired from the Elgin, Joliet and Eastern Railroad of Gary, Indiana where he was a carpenter foreman for 35 years. He resided most of his life in Valparaiso, Indiana and retired to Henderson, Nevada.
Al was committed to his family, whether it was lending assistance to those in need or being a guardian for his nephew, Little Al; he had an impact on all of his siblings and extended families lives.
Al was always active throughout his life. While in Indiana, he enjoyed buying and training quarter horses. In retirement, he had a passion for making clocks, woodworking and enjoyed refurbishing classic automobiles.
Survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Dorrene; sisters Wanda Bikos, Joan (Charlie) Johnson; and granddaughter, Shannon Edwards.
Al was predeceased by mother, Viola; father Cecil; sisters, Billie Baker, Tommie Roberts, Connie Slusser and Ellen Canen; and brother Cecil Ray Pace.
