Andy Meckler died on April 19, 2021. He was deeply loved by many--a good friend, a mentor, a magician, a music lover, and a comedian. He passed while surrounded by three important individuals--the love of his life, Terri; his best friend, Roy; and his sister, Karen. Shortly after graduating from University of Maryland, he headed west and lived the life of a ski bum and for a short time he was also a Park Ranger. His wanderings eventually landed him in Las Vegas. He started out bartending at the Port Tack Steakhouse where he met and made lifelong friends. Several years later his pursuit of higher education led to UNLV where he acquired his master’s degree. His career in Food & Beverage took him all over the country and provided exciting opportunities along the way. Most notably Louisville, KY where he was director of Food & Beverage at Churchill Downs; Chicago, IL with Delta Airlines; and to the opening of the Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas. Having lived in various cities he always considered Las Vegas home. He is survived by numerous friends, along with his brother, Mike, his sister and brother-in-law, Karen and Brad, a niece, two nephews and two grand-nieces, as well as Terri and Roy. His warm, caring, and charming presence will be deeply missed by all who were privileged to have known him.
