The Mr. Robinson experience:
I met Andy during the Winter of 1993 at Clark High. Coach Larry Barnson had told Andy and Jim to look out for the new guy at school. I had just transferred in from California during my Junior year and it was great to have a couple hired guns at my side. Andy and I were the strong side of the offensive line. He wore number 67 and I was 68. 
Mr. Robinson had an uncanny gift of memory. A normal person would remember a quote or catch phrase from a movie but Andy would recite whole scenes verbatim. We would be talking and suddenly Andy would go into a scene from a movie. I didn't realize what was happening until 10 minutes later when he would get to the catch phrase that I knew. His acting ability was superb. Before the Tarantino and Rodriguez versions of "Grind House", Andy starred in one of the greatest movies I have ever seen. "Crimson Glory".
He was an amazing person who had legendary "irate" stories and I found myself most of the time living vicariously through him. He was an adventurer and loved life. I can't say that I will miss Mr. Robinson, because in my mind he is still alive living the dream and when he gets back we'll sit down, open up a bottle of Ouzo and he will tell one of his greatest stories.
Mr. Robinson, you were a super nova that lit up the sky. I've lived through you, my prayer is that you continue to live through the people you have met on this journey. Peace and Love my brother... "Vatos Locos Forever".

I’ll see you anon, old friend. I don’t know when, and I don’t know where...but I’ll know I’m there when I see you waiting  with that big crooked grin and arms wide open to give me one of your signature “Who loves you, baby?!” bear hugs. 

Rest In Peace, brother.

I was stunned and saddened to hear about Andy’s passing.  He was a great person who always cracked me up.  We spent many hours together playing football in high school & hanging out in college.  My last memory of him was during our 20 year reunion.  While reminiscing with old teammates, Andy pulled out a 20 plus year old game plan written by Coach Gutowski on how to beat Green Valley in the playoffs.  We loved it!  Only Andy would remember to hold on to that for us to enjoy years later.    Andy will be missed.

Trying to narrow the memories down and put them into words that I have of my brother and I to fit in this paragraph is tough because I really want to write a book. When I think of Andy the first thought I have is the time we were younger and my Dad "Denny" and our stepmom "Karen" took us all on a vacation with our other younger brothers "Brooks and Taylor" and family "The Hess's" on a road trip to DisneyLand, Universal studios and Knotts Berry Farm, I just remember one night at the hotel we all got to go to the pool and swim and there were a bunch of other kids that were playing surfing where they would be a surfer on their friends back under water. I remember wanting to try it so bad and I was trying to play with them and they would laugh at me and shoo me away, well their parents called them out of the pool and told them it was time to go and of course they were upset. Just then Andy shouted from the other side of the pool so loud so they could hear him "Hey Channy, want to do some surfing?" as he swam over to me went under water put my feet on his back and he surfed with me the whole way under water from one side of the pool to the other! Those kids glared at me with such jealousy and were totally envious that I got to do that. I remember just looking at them smiling directly at them as I rode those waves! I knew right then and there at that very moment that I had the best BIG brother in the entire world. It was magic a memory that will last a lifetime. I love you Andy...you were always the calm to the storm! 

I remember you as a laughing and fun little boy who was always sweet and kind. 
I remember you always being protective of your brother and sister and loving to your Mom and JR. 
Our deepest sympathies and loving condolences to your family.

My brother was a kind soul. He could make you laugh and recall thousands of movie facts and quotes at the drop of a hat. I'll always remember listening to him play guitar through the thin walls between our rooms, teasing me constantly, and telling me silly jokes. We always thought he'd grow up to be a director of movies one day. I pray he's resting peacefully with the ultimate director in the sky. Love you big brother. 

Although my time with Andy was short, it was one of the best times in my life. I never laughed at his jokes on purpose, I  liked to see him get riled up. He was so fancy, we went to the swankiest of Penthouse parties and members only clubs at the Foundation Room. He always lit the room up, the last memory I have of Andy is him asleep in my chair, looking so peaceful as I kissed  his forehead when I went out the door. He loved his family and he cherished his friends, fly high Andy Robertson Rest in paradise. I love you.

Although I didn't know Andy super well, any run in with him was always entertaining. He was super funny, sarcastic and could make fun of everything even himself! I remember him being a big fan of Audrey Hepburn and he had a picture of her in his car as well as an awesome framed photo of him and husband father Circa 1980. He will be missed by many. 

My first memory of Andy Robinson was on graduation day at Clark High School in June of 1994. The entire class went to the Rio Buffet to celebrate. Like a dumb high school kid, I had foolishly locked my keys in my car WHILE the car was running. I had no idea what to do and it was very embarrassing. But someone kind would save the day. Enter Andy Robinson, a stranger, to the rescue. By implementing the old (new to me) hanger trick and unlocking the door from the inside, Andy saved my hide. It wouldn’t be the last time he came through for me in some way. The rest would be 20+ years of memories and friendship. We played poker. We watched games and great movies. We caroused during the Vegas night. We saw each other at our highest highs and our lowest lows. We had great conversation. We knew each other well. And we still had more to do together. 

I’m sorry this happened to you, Andy. You’ll be missed. 

Andy saw good in everyone; he also accepted everyone for whom they were.  Andy never held a grudge nor did he ever dwell on negativity.  Whether you were in his immediate circle or not, everyone will miss how he could see the humor in anything and how he always had good intensions.
