Andrew Vaden, a native son and lifelong resident of Las Vegas, passed away May 29, 2020 from complications with his short but strong battle with cancer. He was born on March 14, 1970 to high school sweethearts John and Andrea Vaden who are also Las Vegas natives. Andrew spent much of his youth playing Little League Baseball and Pop Warner Football with his dad often coaching him and beloved cousins playing on his teams. He played baseball and football at Clark High School and graduated in 1988. He went on to play college baseball at Cuesta College in San Luis Obispo, CA and then College of the Desert in Palm Springs, CA. Andrew was always a true athlete and remained a sports fan all his life continuing to play adult league baseball/softball and finding a passion in golf.
Upon returning to Las Vegas, Andrew used his natural charisma to excel in everything he did. He could strike up a conversation with anyone from any background , was always quick to make friends, and never forgot a face. From his early days at Spanish Trail Country Club where he discovered his love of golf, his bartending days at the legendary local bar Money Plays and Crazy Horse, to his time at Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse where he became a certified sommelier, Andrew left a big impression on co-workers and clients alike.
For the last 14 years of his life Andrew found a second home at Cascata Golf Course, first working as a golf caddie and finishing off as the Caddie Master. It was there in 2012 that he met the love of his life, Lindsey Williams, and were married on May 13, 2016. Lindsey brought two children into the marriage, whom Andrew immediately took on as his own the last 8 years. His stepson, Emery, and his stepdaughter, Eilyn, whom they referred to each other as the father/daughter of their hearts. On November 4, 2018, their son Ethan Ace Vaden was born. Andrew was an incredibly proud father and a loving husband.
Those who knew Andrew best remember him as a true friend, a rock solid ally, and the life of any party. His warm smile and genuine laugh could light up any room. He was always ready to entertain with a story or a joke. Andrew had a gift for making people feel special and he maintained many lifelong friendships. He cared deeply for friends and family alike.
Andrew is survived by his parents John and Andrea Vaden, his wife, Lindsey Vaden, his children Emery, Eilyn, and Ethan. His sister Gina Mansouri, and his nephews Zach Casillas, Tarik Mansouri, and his niece Jade Casillas-McDermott.
As heartbreaking and unimaginable as this loss is, we are comforted that his suffering was not prolonged, and that he is now together with his aunt, uncles and grandparents who have passed before him.
We will be celebrating the amazing life of Andrew Vaden on
