The family of Angelito “Angel” Mercado is deeply saddened to announce his passing on February 13, 2026. Angel was born on January 11, 1961 to Pedro and Paulina Mercado in Cabanatuan City, Philippines. Angel was able to travel to many parts of the world, and he proudly spoke of his time spent as a child in Nigeria, where his father, a Civil Engineer, helped build Eko Bridge. Angel studied Biochemistry at the University of Santo Tomas, where he met his wife Paz. They were married for almost 40 years. Angel is survived by his wife, Paz; children, Kevin, Angela, Angeli, and Angelu; grandchildren, Avery, Asher, and Aryana, with another grandchild on the way; and all his cherished friends. He touched the hearts of all his friends and family through his kindness, generosity, and humor. Angel was a proud Clinical Laboratory Scientist for more than 30 years and served as President of the Philippine Association of Medical Technologists (PAMET) - Nevada Chapter and National Auditor of PAMET USA. He had a profound love for music, which he expressed through singing, playing guitar, and dancing (even if he was the only one). Angel was known as a loving man that always knew what to say to put a smile on your face. He put his family above himself and he will be truly missed by all who knew him.
