For those blessed to have known Anita Atienza, know that she was one of the most caring persons they have ever met. She played a motherly figure to everyone she encountered. She was a down to earth and warm-hearted individual who was loved by all. She was a wise and understanding individual who always wanted to please others and make people happy. She never failed to make those around her feel included and loved by ensuring they had whatever they needed, even if that meant putting others before herself.

Anita was born in Balagtas, Bulacan, the daughter of Pedro and Agrifina Nuguit. She was raised in Balagtas, Bulacan, Philippines along with her six siblings who had the typical sibling rivalries while growing up, but nonetheless, cared for one another deeply. Throughout her childhood, she learned to be reliable and independent. She found it easy to show sympathy and kindness towards others which would become admirable qualities of hers that became a part of her personality throughout her life.

Anita was an ambitious woman who was determined in all she set her mind to. She always focused on the end goal despite constant distractions that came her way throughout life in College. She was an intelligent woman who always strived to be the best, which ultimately led to her earning her Bachelor of Science in Commerce majoring in Accounting.

Anita also enjoyed spending time doing various hobbies. Some of her favorites included going to the casino and playing on slot machines, cooking, traveling, watching TFC, and even scrolling through Facebook late at night when she could not fall asleep. Above all, she was a woman of God. Her faith was of utmost importance to her.

Making friends came easy for her. She was sociable, friendly, and had an outgoing personality that led her to meet many new people wherever she went. She touched the lives of every person she came in contact with. Regardless of all the hardships, trials, and tribulations life threw at her, she remained strong through it all. Her 78 years of life were lived to the fullest, just as we would expect from her, and that is evident by the many faces we see here today.

Anita passed away on April 10, 2019. She is survived by her daughters, Maria, Carla, Charissa, and Charina; sisters, Fely, Letty, Jovita, and Remy; brothers, Efren and Hector; and grandchildren Nicole, Charles, Stephen, Roselle, Aaron, Denise, and Matthew.

It is said that those who touch our lives inspire us and love us. And they do so for a lifetime. Today we honor and celebrate Anita’s life and her love. Our lives are more colorful because she was a part of it.
