It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our beloved Ann Martha McGlasson, aged 78, who departed this world on Saturday, January 24, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Ann, born on November 24, 1947, to Kenneth and Martha Alwardt in Batavia, New York, spent her early years in Batavia before moving with her family to Coolidge, Arizona, in 1961.
Ann's journey was filled with remarkable milestones. She graduated from Coolidge High School in 1965 and married Steven Edwards the following year. Together, they welcomed their first child, Mark Warren, in March 1967, and their second child, Alison Elisabeth, in September 1972. Ann embarked on a successful banking career at Valley National Bank in Coolidge, where she quickly climbed the corporate ladder. In pursuit of better opportunities, Ann and her children moved to Mesa, AZ, in 1978. In 1981, she took a leap of faith and moved to Las Vegas, NV, where she continued to excel in the banking industry for over 40 years, earning titles such as Unit Manager, Customer Service Manager, and Vice President at Bank of America.
Ann was a beacon of optimism, drive, and wit. Her colleagues fondly remember her as a natural leader who inspired and encouraged everyone she worked with. She was often referred to as the best boss they ever had.
Ann was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved sister, Jane. She is survived by her "baby" brother, Stephen (Della) Alwardt; her children, Mark Edwards and Alison (Darin) Jones; her grandchildren, Richard (Ashley) Edwards, Patrick (Laura) Edwards, Alex Edwards, Alexander Jones, and Kaitlyn (Blake) Schick; her great-granddaughter, Hazel Edwards; and her four-legged grandbabies, Charlie Ann and ET Martha.
Ann's love for her family and friends knew no bounds. Her children and grandchildren were the light of her life, and she was incredibly proud of her son and grandsons for serving in the United States Air Force and her daughter for being a dedicated teacher. Ann found joy in gardening, reading, and listening to mystery books. She had a fondness for Coke in a bottle and Juicy Fruit gum. Her other passions included listening to Waylon Jennings albums and cheering for her Buffalo Bills football team.
Ann's presence will be deeply missed, and her memory will be cherished forever by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
We invite you to join us in celebrating Ann's life at her memorial service, which will be held on Saturday, February 7th, 2026, from 1 pm to 4 pm at Palm Mortuary, 7979 W Warm Springs, Las Vegas, NV 89113. Appetizers and refreshments will be provided.
