Anna Martha Castellan was known as many things to many people. She was a loved one, a friend, and someone special. To family and friends who knew her best, Anna will be remembered as a very exceptional person.
Anna was born on May 9, 1930 in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of the late Michael and Antoinette Ferrara.
Anna and her husband, Edward E. Castellan Sr., retired and moved to Henderson, Nevada in 1990.
Anna loved being a mom and she did her best to fulfill her children’s needs. Anna was blessed with five children: four sons Albert, Edward Jr. (Iolanda), Michael (Andrea) and David (Cecelia), and one daughter Julie (Chuck). Another blessing for Anna was the gift of seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren: grandchildren Giovanni (Michelle), Edward III, Arianna, Vincent, Charles, Samantha and Megan, and great-grandchildren Giovanni, Giuliana and Giada.
Anna enjoyed her leisure time by taking part in various hobbies. A few of her favorite pursuits:
Liked her coupons
Was a Guild member
Was always “ready” to go out for a good time
Loved gambling, especially video poker and Keno
Always read her newspaper cover-to-cover
Loved reading romance novels
And last but not least “loved her sweets, especially chocolate.”
Anna found pleasure in sports. She was also something of a sports fan and enjoyed following her favorite events whenever she had the chance to do so. Tops on her list were watching the Cubs and the Golden Knights.
Anna’s faith was important to her. She was a member of the Catholic Church. During that time, she went to mass every Saturday night and said her stack of prayers every day.
Anna lost her battle to Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma on September 19, 2019.
Anna was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Edward E. Castellan Sr.
She is survived by her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A visitation will be held from 3:00-7:00pm on Friday, September 27, 2019 at Palm Eastern Mortuary on 7600 S Eastern Ave. A funeral service will be held at 10:30am on Saturday, September 28 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church on 2300 Sunridge Heights Parkway, Henderson, NV 89052.

Simply stated, Anna was a good and kind person, an individual who will for all time be remembered by her family and friends as being a caring and giving person, someone who was a vital part of their lives. Anna leaves behind her a legacy of life-long friendships and many cherished memories. Everyone whose life she touched will always remember Anna Martha Castellan.
